India’s indigenous population (Scheduled Tribes) constitutes 6.8% of the total demographic, according to the 2011 Census. In Central India, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh each host 46 indigenous communities. While some of these communities have achieved developmental parity, many continue to face socio-economic challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and resistance to external influences. Despite numerous programs launched by government and non-governmental organizations to improve their quality of life, significant progress is still needed This seminar aims to explore these critical aspects, deepen understanding of indigenous children’s developmental needs, and foster sustainable empowerment strategies. By bringing together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders, the seminar seeks to chart a path towards inclusive development that honours the unique heritage and potential of India’s indigenous children.

Accommodation

Modest accommodation on sharing basis will be provided on request to outstation participants on first come first served basis with simple dinner on the previous evening, dinner on the seminar day and breakfast on the following day post seminar. A sum of Rs. 300 will be charged for the same.

Note: Travelling Allowance: NO TA/DA will be provided to the participants.
